In order to receive credit towards completion of the required Information Assurance
certification pre-assessment, the IA member must adhere to the following:

Mandatory CompTIA Practice Exams (required to apply for voucher):
All personnel wishing to receive a free CompTIA certification exam voucher must successfully pass the CompTIA pre-certification assessment below:
ComptTIA has added new self-assessments that correspond to the new CompTIA A+ exams that are now available. The old self-assessments, including PC Technician Form A and B, are no longer available as the 2003 A+ exam is expiring 30 June. The new self-assessments are as follows:
* PC Tech Assessment (220-601)
* IT Technician Assessment (220-602)
* Remote Support Technician Assessment (220-603)
* Depot Technician Assessment (220-604)
In order to receive the CompTIA A+ certification, a candidate must pass 2 exams. The first exam is the CompTIA A+ Essentials (601) and the second exam is either the CompTIA 220-602, 220-603 or the 220-604. The self-assessments above correspond to the new certification examinations. Before taking the self-assessments, candidates must work with their respective OPR POC and/or IAM to decide which course track is most appropriate for their position. Please remember, prior to requesting a voucher, certification candidates must complete the selfassessment. CompTIA does not keep a record of the assessment report – you should print your report at the end of the test, prior to exiting. You will have to show your results to your IA Manager before they can authorize you to obtain a DoD provided certification voucher.
(1) Go to http://currency.comptia.org/dod from a computer that is connected the internet and a printer
(2) Enter Name, Component name and your .mil email address
(3) Enter your Components User ID and password provided by your IAM (usn dodusn10)
(4) Select preferred assessment:
PC Technician = A+ objectives
Network Technologies = Network+ objectives
IT Security = Security+
